During my time at Chipper, a fintech startup focused on loan repayment solutions, we underwent a significant business pivot to better address the needs of our users. Following this strategic shift, I redesigned the entire mobile app, building upon and enhancing the existing design system and created designs for five distinctive features, along with a fully polished marketing website to showcase our app to potential users and investors.

The Pivot

Chipper recognized that the student loan market was highly unstable and dependent on government policy, leading to unreliable student loan services and a poor user experience.

To address this issue, Chipper decided to diversify its offerings while still targeting the same predefined market. This pivot aimed to augment Chipper’s value proposition, ensuring greater resilience and robustness in its utility offerings

Features Added

Debts: allows users to easily track and manage all their outstanding loans in one place. It provides a clear overview of balances, due dates, and payment schedules to help users stay organized and on top of their financial obligations.

Strategy: helps users create personalized debt repayment plans based on their financial situation and goals. By offering tailored recommendations, it empowers users to make informed decisions and accelerate their journey to becoming debt-free.

Plan: enables users to set specific financial goals and milestones, such as paying off a loan by a certain date using the Snowball and Avalanche method. This creates a personalized, effective repayment plan that best aligns with the user’s financial situation and goals.

Track: offers real-time updates and insights into users' debt repayment progress. With detailed analytics and visualizations, users can monitor their achievements and adjust their strategies as needed to stay on course.
